LOL! I did tech support in college and have way too many stories like this. Probably my best is fixing an inkjet printer by pulling an 7 inch makeup brush out of it...
my favourite was when i got a call late one evening from Hawaii about the The Psychological Corporation's psychometric scoring suite (this particular caller needed to score an evaluation for a Beck's Scale for Suicide Ideation assessment they'd just done). after getting them to read off a registration string from the "About" screen to me, it turned out they were KNOWINGLY using a pirated copy of this $25K piece of software and were pissed off that they had no more uses left on the counter dongle. i offered to reload it for the price of the suite plus the cost of the reload and then explained why. call ended abruptly. oh, best bit: it was a STATE AGENCY calling!
'All Wordy And Junk' is the home for some bloggers who aren't that great at keeping up a blog on their own. We figured we'd band together and rely on everyone else to keep the content flowing when we had writer's block. Other than that, there is no theme here. Posts and topics will be random, because that's the way we like it.

:) At least they didn't argue with you about how they weren't stupid before then realising that no, they hadn't plugged it in...

While troubleshooting, I once destroyed my Packard Bell Personal Computer by dropping a screwdriver onto the motherboard - while it was powered on.
